With a rapidly expanding portfolio of Coverholders, we are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Underwriting Assistant to work in the Property department to join our growing underwriting team.

The Role:

To carry out administrative tasks as required to support the underwriting team.

Attend and organise key client meetings, including responsibility for agenda circulation, minutes and preparatory analysis.

Maintain records of pipeline submissions and ensure this is kept up to date.

Take responsibility for filing special acceptance submissions and collating and maintaining relevant logs.

Assisting underwriters in the pre-bind underwriting process for new business and renewals.

Inputting and monitoring workflows for renewals and ensuring daily referrals are handled by the underwriting team members.

Assisting in the day-to-day operation of delegated authority contracts, including review of slips and endorsements.

Assisting underwriters with the production of management information, including statistical analysis and production of reports for monthly management meetings, product oversight groups and other committees as necessary.

To take on the responsibility of operating and monitoring and updating premium income.

Collate all relevant information required for any internal/external audits.

Ensure aggregate limits and other KPI’s are correctly presented in Graphene

Work closely with Data Ops to ensure the data quality and monitoring of monthly bordereaux

Maintain a high level of professionalism and prompt service when dealing with key stakeholders, including coverholders and brokers

Your Skills and Experience:

• Prior relevant work experience and understanding of the insurance industry preferred
• Property experience desired but not essential
• Keen interest and curiosity of data; able to interpret information and identify trends and patterns
• Educated to A Level or above.
• Advanced numeric and analytical skills.
• Expert knowledge of MS Excel, ability to design complex formulae and pivot tables
• Strong administration and data entry skills.
• Highly organised, with the ability to work to deadlines and effectively prioritise.
• Confident to manage upwards and ensure team members are completing their required actions.
• Ability to work independently using their own initiative and also work well as part of a team.
• Drive towards achieving ACII accreditation
